Run or Dye

Since giving birth to Noah, I’ve been running, erm, never. I used to really love a run before falling pregnant, and would often take part in organised 5 or 10k runs. My favourite was the Pudding Run, which is just in time for Christmas, along the coast between Spanish City and Tynemouth. At the end, all the finishers get a goody bag with a – yes, you’ve guessed it – Christmas pudding inside! 

I keep thinking that I so need to start doing some running again, but actually any outside activity is uplifting and good for my mind and body. I really enjoy getting out for a brisk walk with James in the pushchair and Noah in the sling. So when I heard about Run or Dye, the world’s most colourful 5K, I thought I’d sign up because look how fun it looks! 

  
Run or Dye is a recreational 5K that celebrates fitness, friendship and fun – all while blasting participants with safe, eco-friendly, plant-based dye powder. Run or Dye draws its inspiration from the ancient Hindu festival of Holi, also known as the “Festival of Colours.” Apparently this is a brilliant walk/run/toddle for all the family, and I’ll be able to take part with the boys (kids under the age of six go free).

 

A leader in the fitness literacy movement, Run or Dye’s mission is to encourage better health, fitness and nutrition decisions among its participants and supporters. I’m pretty sure James will totally love it, and no doubt Noah will sleep through it all.

    Good for you! I used to feel guilty about time away to train for the half marathons I run. But now my kids like to get out and walk or run a little with me before or after my runs. I know I’m planting the seeds that being active is good for you and FUN! 🙂

    I’m going to do a run or dye event next year with my Dad, really looking forward to it! I took part in my first 5k run ever this year and loved it – definitely want to do more! Visiting from #wellbeingwednesday
